The IT Triathlon 2016 was one of the most interesting sporting events for the IT industry. The third edition of the competition took place on the 17th of June at Powidzkie Lake in Wielkopolska. Among hundreds of participants, AB was represented by the team of 12 competitors. For the third time, the leader of distribution in Central and Eastern Europe from Wrocław was a business partner of the IT Triathlon.

Traditionally, the competition was held on two distances – Olympic (swimming: 1500 metres, cycling: 40 kilometres, running: 10 kilometres) and sprint (swimming: 750 metres, cycling: 20 kilometres, running: 5 kilometres). Among our employees, the highest place was won by Robert Sztur, who finished 5th on the Olympic distance after a fierce, but fair competition. Marzena Urbaniak, who also took the 5th place in sprint, was the best among our women. The AB team has also done a good job and took the 5th place in sprint. Grzegorz Nowak won the 1st place in his age category, which is another successful start.

The competition held at the Powidzkie Lake is the largest triathlon event aimed at IT professionals. Since the very beginning, AB S.A. is not only a business partner of the event, but also enters the competition with a strong team of employees, starting in all categories. As a team, the AB employees achieved good results thanks to their swimming, cycling and running training regimes, spanning several weeks. During this period, they could fully count on the employer’s support, and the company ensured proper conditions for a professional swimming training, among others.

After the competition, the participants took part in discussion panels, as well as the Sport&Business Party industry meeting. The proven formula of the event, combining sport and business not only allows for networking and building professional relationships, but also motivates the participants to strive for personal success.
